Weekly field trial results, highlights & commentary

Sept 2-4, GSPC of Lincoln, NE: The season has begun!  We started off with a bang at the Branched Oak trial grounds.  Becky and Todd Hardgrove's home-grown GSP Ricochet's Arrieta "Sid" won the Puppy stake.  Sid's sire, Redbud's Rodeo Clown "Rodie", placed second in both Open and Open Limited Gun Dog.  Rodie's littermate, FC Echo's Little Bit of Clown "Bitty" placed 3rd in Open Limited Gun Dog.
A New Field Champion: Chuck and Judy Parietti's young female GSP "Creed" won the GSPC of Lincoln's Open Gun Dog stake at the walking trial held prior to the regular trial to finish her Field Championship.  Creed was also second in the Amateur Gun Dog at the weekend trial.

Sept 23-26 GSPC of Nebraska: As Usual, Bob Erbe and the GSPC of Nebraska's trial was very large.  Redbud's Rodeo Clown "Rodie" continued his winning streak and placed 2nd out of 56 in the Open Gun Dog.  Rodie has defeated over 100 dogs in the last 30 days.  His pup, Todd and Becky Hardgrove's Ricochet's Arrieta, "Sid", won the Puppy stake for the fifth time in a row out of 22 dogs!  Bob Erbe handled FC Echo's Little Bit of Clown "Bitty" to a 2nd in the Amateur All Age, and Larry Loftin's young GSP female, "Isis", placed 3rd out of 34 in Amateur Gun Dog.  In Open Derby with 34 dogs, Scott Bodenstab's GSP "Trooper" placed 2nd and my pointer Eshod's Thunder "Tom" placed fourth.
Scott Bodenstab is the breeder of Rodie, Bitty, Trooper and Isis, and Sid, who is Rodie's get, is also a credit to Scott's breeding program and his top bitch, NGSPA NAC/ 2xNC-RU/FC/AFC Gertrude's Blue Brandi, JH.  Scott should be very proud of what his dogs have won in the field this fall.
